A short walk around and into the Devils Punch Bowl on Hindhead Common. There a numerous walks here of varying length and the whole area is well worth an explore.

This walk begins at the National Trust car park where there's a tea room and toilets if required. The old footpath used to run along the top of the hill above the busy A3 but that all changed in 2011 when the HIndhead Tunnel was opened and the old road ripped up and returned to nature.

You can now walk along the grassed over old dual carriageway, which feels slightly odd but gives great views over towards Beacon Hill.

This route then drops off, down the hill towards the Youth Hostel at the bottom of the punch bowl. Its a very quaint but basic hostel that anyone can stay in.

Just after the hostel is a stream and bridge that's a great spot to dig out the sandwiches and flask and enjoy a break.

Now the hard work begins with a long sweeping trail up the other side of the punch bowl.

There's various side trails for those who want a longer walk. Once at the top, the path is easily followed back to the car park.
